Alphamax
Hello , I have a customer with a Citreon Berlingo van with the sx9 blade , cut the key via series code , works 100% in the door lock however very very tight in ignition barrel , at first I couldn't get it to turn but eventually did but still seems tight . Is this a regular occurance ? Key was cut on a miracle A9 . Thanks in advance . Adam
jacko
Had the same problem on Berlingo only wouldn't turn at all. Flushed with GT85 gently jiglged key a few times, cleaning off grim from key and eventually turned as sweet as you like.
Autotechnix
As above, Usually on Tradesmen's vans they fill up with dust etc, when you put a new key in it tries to compress the dust and tightens up. Had the same on PSA SX9 and Renault based NE72, good flush sorts it out.
Neal Southern
If the key wasn't cut accurately it would be a problem in the door lock even before it becomes a problem in the ignition. So if the key isn't correct the door lock will clutch and will not lock or unlock, same key in the ignition could work fine but very unlikely the other way around. Alphamax
Hi , funny enough there was sticky black stuff every time I pulled the key back out of the barrel , I must get some of that gt85 , Neal the key cut perfectly and looked identical so I ruled the A9 out straight away have had no problems so far 👠, thanks for replying everyone greatly appreciated , that's the first problem solved , second one was it wouldn't programme in for some reason . grahamparker
Had a lot of these over the years. Before putting any lubricant in the lock use a sharp pointed probe or key extractor and poke around the ignition to loosen as much as posible then use a can of compressed air to dislodge the dirt. Then lubricate using Kaba lock oil or Abus PS88
