Gravograph vxm

Morning all

Been offered a gravograph vxm, good price but just want a bit of advice first,

 

Can it be transferred to work through a laptop,

 

If it's fonts are on disc can you still get different fonts,

 

Are parts still available,

 

Has any one got one/ used one, are they good/ quick

Unfortunately we can't get parts unless they are common to other more current machines.

 

We have very few discs left also.

I used to have a VXM and as a first computerised engraver it was adequate.

 

Very confusing to use and compared to modern machinery quite slow.

 

I had mine serviced every year by Mervin at www.microwhite.co.uk so he may have some spare parts etc?? 

 

 

Personally I would save up some more money and buy a Gem from U-Marq.

Update: We are now out of floppy discs for VX and Unica.  I think Mervin has a stock though.  He can also supply the memory cards for Unica, which we cannot.
