Forest Cobbler
If a customer brings in a watch with a broken crown stem I can often find a replacement that matches in my box of salvaged items. But what if the stem is missing altogether? How would I know what the business end is supposed to look like? Don't worry, there's no way I am going to try fitting any old stem because that cannot be the way to go, and would surely only result in more damage. Are there pictures anywhere that detail which stem fits which movement? If we bought a selection box would it say which one to use? The one I need to find at the moment is for a Miyota 2315, which looks much like a 2035 but has a date, so I assume the stems won't be the same. It seems a bit excessive to send the watch away to get it done. Any advice welcome. Thanks Valerie
Michael
On cousins website you can search the movement and maybe a stem to match or if not sell the customer a new movement
Count Muppet
If the stem is missing completely it is likely that the movement is faulty because it shouldn't allow it to come out. Sell them a new movement. I'm sure you could order a stem from the movement reference if needed though but with p&p it's probably often worth just getting the full lot
Flash
I don't think you get a new crown and stem with a new movement, only a temporary one. It depends on the watch case which crown and stem is used.
Lee
Most standard movements come with a stem. I tend to order the movement use the stem and stick the rest instock unless its an exceptionally expensive movement. you can buy stems on their own but they are expensive that way imo
