PCI DSS....What a waste of my time!!!

Recommended Posts

Every bloody year even though it is a tick box exercise but if you don't do it you pay for it. I don't kn if you're the same but if you do it when th reminder comes the year starts then not when renewal due, our reminder arrived in early September for a November renwal

thing is try and make money like this in our businesses - getting customers to fill in the simplest of form and if not charge an extra grand? We would be locked up,

At least you got an e mail reminder. I received nothing, this thread made me check my certicate, found it had expired a GOOD few months ago. Will sort out first thing monday, but when it expired life went on a usual.

Yep. Turns out I was paying £10 a month extra.

Just received a leaflet and rep from handepay. Offering no pci and much more. Will stay safe with worldpay.

If you ever try getting out of Worldpay you will have a nightmare

I missed my February cancellation date a few years ago (my contract automatically renewed for a further 18 months) So when I cancelled I got billed for another 18 months for the hire of the machine plus another 18 months to cancel my website plugin)

Nobody could help not even the financial ombudsmen, had to cancel the cancellation and stick with them then cancel the contract at a later date.

Glad to say I'm well out of it now though - Utter Bell ends that company

Been quite happy with worldpay. Plan to stay with them. However I do understand your frustration, just had my contract renewed. Confirmation letter received after renewal, I really feel a renewal letter should be sent approx 1 month before renewal.

bad business   http://www.cardswitcher.co.uk/2015/12/worldpay-fails-to-cut-rates/

WorldPay advise that merchants have 60 days from the date of the letter during which they can terminate their WorldPay merchant account at no cost if they do not wish to accept the new terms.  Of course, this is slightly duplicitous in that merchants would still incur a termination cost on any terminals hired from WorldPay that are within their minimum contract term.

Notwithstanding a potential termination penalty, merchants would be well advised to shop around because there are plenty of other suppliers willing to pass-on more of the EU reduction to new customers/switchers.  The pricing gap between non-switchers and switchers is now at an all time high demonstrating there is no financial benefit in staying loyal to an acquirer/processor over the long term.  They merely interpret this as an indication that you are unlikely to leave and therefore a soft target for future rate increases.
