Have many of you had any problems, with the new silca gti multichip, in the blue case use to be red ?

I had another problem again today, tried to write data to it, starts to write, but comes back with a writing error.

I had 8 different gti chips that I tried, none worked, spoke to Charles birch, lyndsay, she says some people have had the Same problem, and that the new gti chips are very senertive, that you have too have them in a certain position for them to work.

Didn't work so era 3 and p box gone back to Charles birch today.

It's up to date on the software.

It worked fine with the older gti chips in the reds sleeve , but as soon as I used the new blue ones, writing error or the p box times out.

Any ideas anybody..

Thanks in advance....

I have not had the problem you have, but yesterday my RW4 fails to program any chip at all, it reads ok but when copying i get a P Box communication error.

I flashed the firmware on both the RW4 and the P Box but still had the sam problem so my RW4 and P Box are on there way to Matt @ Silca and hopefully it will be sorted today.

Good job i kept my Zedbul as the 3 jobs i would have lost where all tpx2 chips.

Just goes to prove it's always worth having a secondary machine just in case.

Theres no add ons to the keyline. You either buy the 884 or the bargain mini one.

no p box, no server issues with the 884 its standalone. For cloning its the best imo. I also like the fact it hasnt got left behind its still evolving. New options and possibilities seem to continue to be added to its options.

Miraclone all day long

Best machine I've ever had, never failed a 46 chip & 4D over the internet not a  problem & very fast.

Not sure what the big thing about the snoop tool was all about last week or so, my machine works fine without one.

Once the other 2 Zed-bulls start with problems they will change over & not to anything else.

Can't see the point of cloning on the road, I'd just use diagnostic once on site. I'm sure you agree but each to their own.

Anyway I still think the Miraclone is King of the 46 machines £4.95 for an ADA (46) cloning carbon chip that fits into any remote case or key, works on weekends. Cant go wrong

I think it used to be a CN3 but now its a better chip due to the reliability of the CN3.

But at less then a £5 I can see a point in getting them much cheaper. Also within in my whole £5 if I ever have any trouble I can send them back or speak to someone in England & get it sorted rather then fobbed off.

As yet I haven't had an issues. The only thing you do need though is a TK60 head to sniff data with.

In my experience with cheaper chips they don't all work and when you get issues you on your own, It doesn't always pay.

Back on topic,

My issue was the pbox circuit board which i sent to Matt @ Silca on thursday to be repaired. It was done on friday and the courier delivered it

back to me first thing monday morning.

So no issue with GTI chips for me as yet.,

Big thanks to Matt for the speedy and excellent service that Silca UK deliver.

If you dont  do business on the road ,then you miss the point ,That you can`t 100% communicate via obd 100% , so on the road cloning is also required as well as a back up of a back up & a back up of the spare machines, £££££££££££ or your not realy a professional .Cheaper to buy 2 spare properties ,but its satisfyingly addictive .
