Hi what would you do?  customer has called me back after 10 months approx. 20 miles away regarding a Renault car key card I programmed, hes telling me that the unlock button has stopped working would you guys refund him for this?

I wouldn't normally refund it but I would certainly repair the card if its a genuine one. Or if your using the Chinese made copies just bin it and do him a new one.

 Might be a pain but it really should last longer than that. If you sort it you still have a happy customer and potential repeat custom. If you don't then you have no chance of repeat custom from them. Plus an unhappy customer who will undoubtedly tell others of his experience in a very negative lite. Which will likely cost you more in the long run.
