Darren2
Hi all, I have a quick one on the cutting of NE72 key's on the A5. When i decode a key and cut by direct copy, the key works smoothly in the ignition but will not go all the way in to the door lock and when it does it will not turn in the lock. If i do a nearest copy the new cut key will work smooth in the door lock but wont work in the ignition. I have re-calibrated the machine and this has made no difference. Any ideas from anyone would be appreciated. Thanks
Count Muppet
Do them one for the door and one for the ignition and tell them that it will save wear and tear on the key 😆 Autotechnix and derek
Darren2
Thanks for that. Ill still need to get it sorted though as i dont want to be using 2keys everytime i get a NE72 job as its happened to me before with the A5 on those keys. grahamparker
Why not copy the key in a manual machine rather than using the A5. Auto Key Wizard
Darren2
Thanks, i have done that and the key would not work in either. I think it may be the keyblades themselves, i might have just got a bad bunch of them and they are not the correct width, I'll get the calipers back out. Thought someone else may have had the same problem with their A5.
Auto Key Wizard
Yup that makes sense Graham...But the Miracle should still cut a working key. I always selected NE73 and based on Silca card 623 on my A5 lockdecoders
Auto Key Wizard
I think it may be the keyblades themselves I wouldn't have thought so ... what brand it being used?
grahamparker
There was a bad batch of Silca NE72 blanks but that was about 8/9 years ago and is the only time i have ever had an issue with a silca keyblade.
Darren2
Thanks everyone, I have ordered in some new blades that i will try out next week and will try cut it NE73 as suggested by Tel200. Will keep you posted.
Darren2
Just to add that i had the same problem with the NE72 blade on the A5 another time, that time i copied it manually and it worked fine- and that time i was using keys then that where sourced reliably. If it happens again with the new blades next week i will have to think its a problem with the A5 itself and may need to get on to Peter.
poxon82
Hi if it's tight going into the ignition it will be the key blank, I've got a bag somewhere full of ne72 blades that are slightly too thick, post a picture of the blade and if it's a China blade that will be your problem. I've cut loads on the A5 no problem even use if it's just a copy of a blank. Antony
Darren2
Thanks Anthony, yeah they are blades from china so i am thinking that is the problem too. I will have some new ones in next week that are genuine so hopefully thats all it is. Cheers.
dinger
Same here had problems with the ne72 works in the ignition but not doors but luckily customer was happy to use remote only. Ive had plenty of problems with tibbe adaptor too, personally for the price of the tibbe "its crap" and takes to long should have spent my money on a decent second hand tibbe cutter. grahamparker
Why would anyone buy cut price Chinese blanks ??? May save a few pennies now but it will cost you in the long run. poxon82
If you buy the 206 remote cases from China you get a blade as well so end up with loads spare if you just reuse customers blade, I can't remember last time I needed to buy a ne73 just have to be careful as said quality control isn't always the best but as long as you remember
Darren2
Thanks for all the feedback on this it is much appreciated. Always use genuine keys but just happened on this job that i had no NE72s but had some ones from china from a few years back so gave them a go, hopefully thats it. Thanks Peter i will give try the NE73 on it too. Thanks again, lockdecoders
