Watch straps

Recommended Posts

been selling Watch straps for some 25 years, and have now had a customer who bought a strap a couple of weeks ago for her 80 year old mother bring the watch and (£5) strap back for a refund as it was 'scratching' her mother's wrist?

We obviously refused as she also had extra holes put into the strap and had worn it for as long and the strap 'looked' used.

She started using language like 'not fit for purpose' as the stitching on the strap caused this, and when I stepped into the conversation (argument) she was even suggesting newspapers?

ffs

I managed to get her to buy a Hirsch leather strap £17-00 and exchange as a good will gesture but really? Use an item for two weeks and ask for a refund? Retailing has gone mad, apparently supermarkets let you take wine back and refund after you have polished off 2/3rds of the bottle!
