Did you have the key code ??.

They are for some reason impossible for the Silca machines to decode due to the extra cuts in the lock and the only

way we can do them is with the code.

You could try card 3404 to cut the key but it isn't exact and has a limited success rate even with a depth key and a

vernier caliper.

The Silca Viper will not decode the B series key number. Something to do with how the cuts swish from one side of the key in one cut making it too steep for the machine to decode. If you have the key number it will cut it though. By the way you can also have issues putting depths in also if you decode the lock.

You may also get this problem with a lot of the new Citroen and Peugeot keys as they have been swapping to this type of cut from 2011. Instead of 123456 cuts its 1234QH.

Do you try and decode under something else like Renault because the measurements are different.

Speaking to silca it is a machine decode issue rather than software.

We do loads of C1, Aygo and 107 keys for tow cars that are towed by motorhomes and we have had a few work

by decoding using one of the other cutting cards (but it is hit and miss).

The codes are usually available through the dealers without to much hassle, although they will not deal with us direct

anymore and we have to send the vehicle owner to get the codes. Gone are the days when you had a friend in the stores

who could get you the key code in a phone call.

Had a 2007 Citroen C1 in today for a spare key,

Cut and decoded the key with the A9 but still had to run it through the old Hurricane to finish it off.

Used a CN2 carbon chip in a Silca key but the car wouldn't start unless I turned the key over.

Cut a JMA key which held the chip closer to barrel and all good.

I'll stick with the Silca GTi chips next time.
