Mark Davis
long time since ive seen a 98 master, but im pretty sure you cant program a a standard t5 chip into these, you need dealer key or put a chip straight into the immo box. When you enter the pin code, the tester does a walk though giving the impression a chip has been programmed, but what it has done is put the vehicle into (get you home mode) it should only start once? I could be wrong my memory is not great (i have trouble remembering what i had for breakfast)
holly12345
Just been back out to him and aparrantly hes found his spare key and that no longer works too, so I cleared them both and reprogrammed them and worked I also turned the engine over about 20 times, iwent into customers house for a brew 20 minutes later again they didn't work. so now ive just programmed the original key and so far that's working , that was 3 hours ago , hopefully that's it, but baffled why this happening its costing me a fortune unless it is going in drive home mode. derek
have you read for any faults and cleared them? not sure if it will help but i am sure they recommend clearing any faults that the tester shows up
rapidlocks
98 renault master uses an old clio 1 plip , to program via obd you need a precoded remote from dealer precoded to chassis , you can then program it in without issue . the tester will allow you to program a chip in thats not precoded with a plip , but after 10 minutes or so it will stop recognising it as no precoded plip has been programmed . when you tried to program 2 keys into the vehicle , the system was waiting for the 2nd plip and knocked both out when it wasnt forthcomming , his spare key was obviously precoded correctly so it accepted this one on its own. the only 2 ways around this is to eeprom or fit an emulator , did you try to clone his spare once working , that may well have given you a spare . autolock
If customer is not bothered about remote I would have cut a key taken off immo box above pedals on this one I think and eepromed it putting t5 into key. If you don't do any EEPROM work there are autolock smiths out there who if you send the box to them they will do this for you then u return box and refit and vehicle is ready to go,obviously not as handy as completing the job there and then.and you also need to charge plenty to cover costs .and it's one of those jobs u never stop learning I do know of a very good lad when it comes to EEPROM work but would not like to pass his name on until I spoke to him 1st but people used to send him boxes from all over
