Tormek Sharpener

Recommended Posts

We keep getting asked to sharpen knives, scissors etc & think it's time to invest in a tormek system.

So far we've got to THIS point.

From you guys that have the system already, any advice as to which one to get, which accessories are worth having or not, and any other points that we may not have considered before we take the plunge?

Thanks in advance.

I've got a T3

for scissors, you need the svx-150

knives, svm-140 & svm-45

& the se-76 is good for straight chisels & plane blades.

also buy a

tt-50 truing tool

& PA-70 Honing Paste

you'll need plenty of room round the grinder as it pisses water everywhere & I was adviced to avoid leaving the wheel in the water tray when not in use as it soaks it up & distorts it, not sure if thats true, but I remove the water tray from mine when its not in use.

the T3 does everything I've asked of it, but I'd replace it with a T7 if & when it packs up.
