HowardK
Howdy Folks, Bear with me as I do not think I know the proper nomenclature, I am looking for a source for profile cylinders with a dual/split cam, if there is such cylinder assembly ?? In other words, not a solid cam in the middle, but actually 2 cams or I guess split cams in the middle, Also, is there a site or paper or PDF that explains, the parts, types of profile cylinders, cam types etc ?? Thanking You In Advance
simon payne
Do you mean a cylinder that works from the outside even if a key is in the cylinder on the inside ? I got 1 yesterday from Aldridges, they call it External Key Over-ride.

nathandealey
We do a 70mm twin cam euro, part number PBM/35/35.
grahamparker
The cylinders you are describing sound like they could be for Banham. Grundmann, Evva, Anker, Abus and a few others can supply a cylinder with a split cam but they are really expensive. Think you mean this.
grahamparker
Cisa astral cylinders have a clutch system so a key can be operated from both sides at the same time. I have also had some key and turn euro cylinders from Evva for a childrens home where the key will overide a Thumbturn so the child cannot lock themselves in a room. Most manufacturers of lock cylinders produce all manner of differing cylinder operation (cog wheel cams and so on) you really need to specify what they will be used for to get the best cylinder for the job.
