such
Hi I managed to get a pair of Chapman & Moores goodyear welted brogues at the weekend, for a really good deal. Really nice shoe. The heel and sole edges seem unfinished to me as the heel is just the colour of the leather blocks and has no heel stain or anything else applied to it - so it seems. I took into timpsons who were not very helpful and they suggested I contact the manufacturer. Is there anything I can use to give a slightly darker colour to the heel to protect it with or anywhere I can take it to be done? I'm in Kent and travel is not an issue thanks
Lee
you'll always be up against keeping this finish looking as good as new, but my advice would be to polish the edges with Kiwi or equivalent shoe polish in a neutral (colourless), as this contains waxes to help stop the dirt getting into the leather. you could use mid tan if you want to darken them, but thats personal choice. After polishing them I'd spray them with a leather water proof protector. you'll need to do it pretty regularly to keep them nice. when they do get dirty, a good repairer (worth looking at independents repairers locally) will be able to refinish the edged once in a while. Good luck with those! Lee

Count Muppet
as lee said, neutral wax polish will look after these shoes, if you cant get to a cobbler you can probably get a tin from your corner shop.
