chrisorros
Repaired a few pairs of gents shoes, half leather with heel for a customer last week. Welt stitched. Came back this morning saying there where tight around his foot. Could see them tighten if they where blake stitched not welt stitched as the blake pulls on the apron. First time i've had this happen in 10 years on the job. Could anyone explain why this would happen with a welt stitch?
Count Muppet
Probably because the new sole isn't as supple as the old one which would possibly give the wearer the feeling that they are tight.
chrisorros
Thought that but its only the left shoe. Sorry should have stated that earlier.

Ian platt
Was the cork filler loose has the tape the welt stitched to loose is the insole inside the shoe intact check both shoes against each other sole to sole Is there any dsignificant difference if not probably the fact they have been repaired and feel bait different or the old mind thing like when they say you've heeled my shoes and and now they don't fit because you put them on the last and stretched them. Mmmmm remember most of them are barking mad

If anything the most likely as there wasn't any cork left before as that might be why they feel tighter. Thank you i'll give it a check.
