engraved wine bottles

i really do recommend sticking a nice poster in the window advertising wine bottle engraving

i started pushing this at crimbo and so far i've done loads of wine plus some whiskey and champagne bottles

i fill them with rub n buff

after toying with some prices it seems if you keep it under a tenner the smile stays on the customers face

Cheers guy's, I'm seeing him this weekend and I'll see if it's of commercial interest to him =D>

Someone could get a nice little order Andy

why thank you keith :D very kind of you

Sexy work Andy. Have you ever had any of the bottles smash? I would worry about killing the engraver with wine going everywhere.

no breakages yet [-o<

Just a little feedback. The Company my son works for is already having this service done by a guy opposite their warehouse, but thanks for the help guy's.

As far a Gravo is concerned, the only reason I can think of to NOT engrave a Champers bottle would be if you were using a laser which may effect the content and therefore cause it to explode? But I'm no expert :?

Technically you should not engrave a champagne bottle and I would not think any engraving machine suplier would sell their machine as being suitable for such a process. You have a positive pressure inside the bottle and you could get stress fractures migrating from your engraving. If you think about it a sheet of glass is pretty strong until you score it with a point and then it snaps quite easily.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi Andy,

looked at this thread and had a go at it myself, i engraved a sample to put in my display cabinet, after only half an hour i had got 4 orders for engraving of wine bottles.

Aparentley M&S do this service but it costs over £15, the engraving is not as good and it takes a week for the item to be returned.

Cheers Andy =D> =D> =D> :D
