petercoulson
edit edit edit? Anyway, I havent been to a dn2000 today to take a picture but I have drawn the threading from memory. It sounds just like you have missed out the lock, note that it just sits in the slot whereas it goes through the middle of the shaft where the tension plates are If the pic is sideways just click it to get it the right way, not sure why that happens hibsjo(SCO)

AL Franklin
Thanks so much for the drawing. I can already see 2 errors in my routing. The first at the tension bar. I didnt realize there was a hole in the shaft and at the brake, I ran the thread on top, when it should have been run through the small holes on the left and right of the brake wheel. petercoulson
Hi Al, the one I have marked as brake should just be a slot that is open when the needle is at the top of its travel. When the needle is coming down this shuts causing the lock.

Lee
I've been watching to much television. I looked at that hand drawing of Peters & thought it was a picture of Elizabeth Armitstead on her bike.

Forest Cobbler
Thanks for the drawing of the thread route. It should stop the boss having a bit of a break down. I've printed it off for him to keep for future reference. Valerie
