autolock
my dn 2000 has started playing up ,it jammed up thread got stuck behind shuttle.ive got it to stitch through a single sole thickness but when i try to stitch through double thickness it stitches for about an inch then does not pick up bottom thread for about another inch then stitches again then breaks thread..i notice in the manual it says when the mark on top of needle bar comes down level with bush, the take up arm in bottom should be starting its way down but it is still on its way up on mine any ideas please
petercoulson
Don't worry about the timing as 2000s are all over the place. first check your whirl position. get the needle bar as high as it will go, at this point the small hole in the whirl should be at about 2 o'clock as you look at it. This should be the problem. It is possible but extremely rare that a sheer pin has broken inside the head, you have to try other solutions first before checking this though. Count Muppet
the hole in the whirl will be in the same position whichever way your horn is facing.

Gray
Behave yourself man!......... I know feck all about blakes...thank feck but I do have a certain amount of mechanical aptitude........You have to work backwards in these things think about the last job that sent it wrong. They scoff at me for not having a blake but it's just one less problem for me to worry about.......
Count Muppet
When they work well they are great, when they go wrong you just want to smash them up. Give it a clean, check the thread Is not catching on anything and make sure it is threaded correctly. Have you changed the needle? Even the slightest angle different will make a difference, also if you caught anything in the needle hole it may be enough to throw the height of the needle out. I've spent many hours stressing about the Blake and often find it is a simple problem I have over looked.

keithm
you don't have a loose horn do you? I agree, horn adjustment it's likely to be, have a service call and get the whole thing serviced Or you could end up bald!
ironplanet uk900
A bit of fine tuning, is normally the cause when it stitches in a straight line but misses around the toe. Check needle angle, maybe turn your whirl one more tooth either way & make sure your lifter is not the cause. Is the needle pulling the loop up only for it to disappear again back down the hole! If so this is likely to be lifter out of sink. Hope this helps.

AL Franklin
Hello from Texas, I have a DN 2000 that is picking up the bottom thread and then getting jammed between the Shuttle and Case. Whirl is at 2 oclock when needle is full up. Needle picks up thread everytime. I am starting to think perhaps the bottom isnt threaded correctly or perhaps a tension issue. Anybody out there have a picture or diagram of the proper thread routing?? THanks in Advance, AL Franklin
Gray
Hi Al, welcome to the forum. I hate blakes so can't answer your question ......... but keithm or petercoulson will be along shortly I would think...............Unless keith is off somewhere having his picture taken with some scantily clad pit lane girl and peter is administering CPR to someone....
