Most days i get shoes in that T's said they couldn't do. Mostly Clarks .Easy peasy ! Bring it on i say ! it's money in my till. I've said before.. my brother works for T's & i know everything there is to know (& before wage slave chirps up that they have no secrets then why does it say in your bible that you are not in any circumstances allowed to discuss T's business outside of the shop ?) & they are all under pressure because of their bonus system,& they have just been told they are not allowed to take payment upfront anymore, but they still do because if they are roaming managers & only in a shop for 1 day,if they don't take payment upfront then the roaming manager coming in the next day will get all the bonus's ! It's easy money to churn out stick on soles but anything out of the ordinary just ain't worth the time & money, thats why us independents get good repeat business. However they still turn over huge amounts, in my opinion because they have great locations. I do 10 times more leather half soles to leather long soles, but my brother said they hardly ever do leather half soles because they talk the customer into long soles because more money. £50-£65 for an awful long sole that is never pitched right & has a dozen screws inside the heel & a quick spray paint around the edge & no finish on the sole ! i wouldn't get or want to get away with it ! i find myself talking customers out of long soles if they don't need it.
