tommy
Thank you for the offer Elfman, I have a tin of syntic total on its way and would appreciate advice on use (ie minimum heat and use of primers) If I am still stuck (or not) I will see if the customer minds the wait while I send them to you. Much appreciated, Elfman, thanks Tommy
Lee
Use the primer or kumzoff then syntic. only heat the material not the shoe & only enough heat to get them to stick, this takes a little bit of practice, any hotter & they'll lift any cooler & they won't stick in the first place. Good luck. Lee
StevenB
I don't know what soles you're fitting to these, but I always try & use a piece of suitable material that goes right through in one. If you fit a half sole, the bending force on the waist as it's worn always makes it come away.
elfman
both lee and steve make good points tommy if possable allways do a thru sole and try to use like for like material .i.e use a micro with a high rubber content but is flexable if it is to rigid then you will have problems and if its to soft and porous then it will seperate after a while, and as lee said it is about timing and it takes practice
windycity
also try the renia hardner . 1st use your rehagel primer. the slop some glue into a cup or simular (only the amount for the job) add a few drips or drops of said renia hardner mix and apply. this does go off quite quick, don't really heat just warm the soles maybe. sometimes i do 2 coats of glue the second being normal renia colle decolgne. DON't ADD THE HARDNER TO your glue pot. as elfman said you can always longsole with micro but you have to use the good stuff delite, no cheap and cheerful micro if you use the really thin sheeting you can use this as your base then add whatever sole you desire. goos luck
autolock
After reading last post can you still get deelite? i can only seem to get the stuff that dont wear too well
keithm
I don't believe 'Deelite' is made any longer Twas a great material
elfman
algeos supposedly sell it but its not deelite they call it delite and its not the same the best alternative i use is the birch zepher micro which seems to have a higher rubber content and you can get it in 3 mm which will give you you base to work on
autolock
ive been buying the zephyr i think its called off birch ,but years ago used to use say 6mm or 8mm deelite for thrusoles all the time and it wore well, but this stuff seems to wear out really fast on the heels so i am reluctant to use ,does the stuff from algeos wear ok on heels ?
