Mick Friend
you should be able to work it out, althogh they wear down the difference should be there else there was a tag on the original key - this may have been recorded - else its a tibbe decoder
Craig Gardner
Where would I find the cut depths for a well worn ford focus tibbe?Owners manual, Dealership from the car reg, any thoughts???? if totaly worn and unreadable you should still be able to read it otherwise pick lock open and decode or strip door lock down each disc is stamped witha a 1 2 3 or 4 and guess what thats the key code. dealers never seem to record the old tibbie although most hu101 seem to be recorded now dealer dependent. craig
Gray
You can usually read them even if they are worn. Needs a keen eye......... an eye glass in my case and a bit of luck.

ponsaloti
I bet the tool said a couple of cuts different to the eye. When I get them like this,my eye tells me 2, my gut tells me 1. I then give it to the mrs , you know what happens next. Fortunatly or unfortunatly she's 99% right. Autotechnix

Simes
You can usually read them even if they are worn. Needs a keen eye......... an eye glass in my case and a bit of luck. it's the 1 & 2 cuts that are usually the trickiest. I usually try 1 first and then cut down to a 2 if I got it wrong

Jamine16
A tip I use with really worn tibbe keys is to cut it a bit higher if your not sure. Like if you cant be sure if its a 1 or 2, cut it as a 1 and try the key. If it's a 2 cut, you will see impression marks. I also find 1 cuts tend to wear the most.
