StevenB
Tell him to put this one away in a safe place as an heirloom & wear a digital watch instead.
Count Muppet
I have heard of some people having issues with their bodies creating static or magnetic fields and this can stop their watches from working. Don't know how true it is though, always sounded like an excuse to me

jkamboj
I faced the same situation, A customer of mine brought me a Tissot Quarts watch for battery replacement. The watch stopped after a couple of hours of wearing. Checked the battery, battery was still good. When I replaced the same battery which I took out, started working again. He came back the next day again, same situation. I kept the watch, started it with pulse machine. Wore the watch on my hand for a couple of days worked very well. Returned to the customer. The customer said to me, that I can not wear any battery operated watch. I asked him to check this watch and wear it now. Again stopped in a day or so. This watch was lying in the drawer for 5 years with dead battery. He brought the watch back, then I replaced the movement, the watch never stopped again till the battery lasted.
