advise on price's

Recommended Posts

I buy the material in full 4' x 2' sheets & cut to size. Obviously I know what the sheet costs, so can break down the cost to a price per square inch as required.

I used to charge this way, plus price per letter for the engraving, but the price never quite seemed right. For small signs the charge didn't seem enough, & often with larger signs the material cost was too high, I never quite got round to calculating an effective sliding scale of charges though.

These days, I use the Charles Birch signs price list as my 'ready reckoner' by the till - retail prices for acrylic signs on one side, brass the other. It makes it nice & easy as the prices include up to 100 characters engraved, (so less counting!) & it just works for me.

Last one I had off Birches was 2008. If anyone could whizz over an up to date one I would appreciate it.
