lockdecoders
Sorry about this, but we found that microsoft esentials would not allow a normal upgrade and this is why you would need to uninstal the old version and then run P40. Lee
Pete I had an inquiry I tried to answer whilst at home the other night. I wanted to use the drop down menu caterlgue to identify which chip I needed to price up a key whilst away from the shop. So I downloaded the software & loaded it on my home PC. However when I went to open it I returned this error >Error reading ComComboBox1->ComProperty: Registry error (win error code: 2) After a google search it appears to relate to com port & serial ports being missing on my computer, even though the software should run of a USB port. One post even suggesting its because a software was written on a computer with serial ports & this error was an over site in programming??????? Is this an issue you've seen before or is there a work round? Lee
lockdecoders
Plug the KCP into the pc and run the software and this should sort the problem out.
Lee
Finally got to take the keycrypt home last night. Plugged it in & did a fresh install of the program, installed the drivers all seamed fine. Re-booted the computer again it worked fine, until I unplugged the keycrypt & then the program wouldn't boot up, returning aforementioned error. As soon as I got to work I booted the program (again with out the keycrypt plugged in) & it booted up fine. So it looks like I can't use the program as a reference when at home Lee
Mick Friend
Quite common stops you selling the programme to others to use, check thay may have a dongle to use in the system to make it think its connected.
Gray
Thats strange that Lee because mine works on the laptop without the Keycrypt being connected. The Keycrypt is connected to a desktop in work Windows XP, the laptop is Windows 7. But its running P31 I haven't tried to upgrade to P40.
lockdecoders
That is strange as we have 4 computers here runing different OS and they all work without the device. Although there is a 20 second or so delay. My one at home asks for the device to be plugged in or you get commombo.
