Iain
I hope to be buying a Honda CRV on Monday. Whilst inspecting the car- I asked the dealer if he had both keys and he was unsure. He will check and get back to me Monday. If it transpires he only has one key - can I get a spare cut from someone who programs and cuts those keys or will it have to be a main dealer job like my Mini was? (I wrongly assumed I could obtain a spare from a forum user but ended up paying £110 through BMW) If it's a main dealer job then I can ring them for a price and negotiate further with the seller. Also, what about the alarm fob - are these available to order too? Thanks. Iain

grahamparker
If its a main Honda dealer they may well include 2 keys in the sale. I bought a 6 month old Honda civic through our main dealers and it only had one key.I said i would only be interested in buying if it was supplied with 2 keys to which he replied ALL our second hand vehicles (hondas) are supplied with 2 keys. This may be a local dealer thing but it may also be part of honda national sales. We advise all customers who moan about only recieving 1 key with a second hand vehicle that they (as craig mentioned) make it a condition of the sale before buying. Thats good info for a friend , but not for my business , i cut loads of second keys for people that have just bought a car only to find it came with 1 key or a key without remote. shhhhhhhh
