Dave Millman
Hi all, any1 know of this key?? It's a 3.5 gauge pre-cut (I assume) with no markings. It is for a lock in France if that makes a difference? Sorry for the rubbish pics!
kobblers
Why not cut it from a mortice key, remove the collar and add the bullet groove and then yer sorted? Rick.
grahamparker
The key needs to be wedge shaped with the bit as wide as the original otherwise it will not throw the bolt out fully, stopping it from locking and possibly half throwing and then stopping the original key from working also. I think you can obtain these quite easily in france as you would a union mh in this country.
Dave Millman
Why not cut it from a mortice key, remove the collar and add the bullet groove and then yer sorted? Rick. Did think of that but haven't got a blank that gauge with a tapered bit as shown in pic 2, so the bullet grove won't be the right depth. The owner is goin back to France 2moz, just thought it would be easier to identify and send her one in the post.
kobblers
I'm fairly certain that Union used to do a range of keys like that Rick.
ponsaloti
SKS. Cant remember the make but think it starts with an N. As said, make one from a pin key, lolly stick or anything else you can find. French kack.
