kobblers
Does anyone know a wholesale supplier of those snow and ice grips that you attach to your footwear as we've been asked a few times for them now? These things: http://www.blacktoe.co.uk/ice%20Grips/ice%20grips.htm Cheers, Rick.

Gray
http://www.blacktoe.co.uk/ice%20Grips/ice%20grips.htm LMAO. "Due to unprecedented demand we are now out of all Ice Grip products." Probably bought by panicky people who now have cupboards stocked full of ice grips along with their freezers stocked with dozens of loaves of bread just in case!!! StevenB
I've had 2 people ask me for these - one of them had a sample product she showed me where she'd worn out the metal spikes!! They seemed to think that I should stock them & told me that it would be a definite winner if I did. So, on the basis that I've now been asked for them twice in 18 years in the trade, you can guess my next move...

Erm...... you'll be trying to find the long range weather forecast for the next 18 years .... or you'll stock up with them and have them on your shelves till you retire

StevenB
Well, let's just say that the first woman's advice that "You should get a load of these in, I reckon they'd sell really well" didn't quite match with what I was thinking, having never even heard of them before. Particularly when she said she'd ordered some that she'd seen "in the back of my magazine" (some Woman's weekly crap no doubt) but they were out of stock, so she came to me to get some while she was waiting for them to be delivered. Oh yes, then the second customer who brought the sample reckoned that if I couldn't find a supplier, I should design some & get them made. What do you think the minimum order is from a far eastern factory? 100k units? So, on the basis that it was a bit icy, for a couple of days, here in Cromer - by the seaside where it never normally gets icy - I should invest in a load of stock. By the time stock was delivered the ice would have gone & I'd be left with a load of stock that would sit on the shelf (alongside the folding shoe trees, shock absorbing heels & other best forgotten gems of the past) until we next got some snow & ice. Probably another 18 - 20 years, by which time the plastic would have perished, the spikes rusted & we'd probably have been overtaken by rising sea levels & global warming. Or something. Yes, my next move was to do nothing. Though a stiff drink was tempting Customers, where would we be without them & their wisdom? I never did believe the 'customer is always right' thing. kobblers
I'm on about those that were on the offer sheet before the last, they were cherries and mini handbags etc and came in velvet lined boxes, great movers Since we started to increase prices on certain lines we're getting less complaints, Go figure Rick.
