k4mrc
years ago i bought a fume extracter from whitfield, it was a waste of money - i didn't feel it did anything! looking at this link i see they do newer systems - is there anything similar available - and do they work? http://www.shoesystemsplus.com/fume-busters.html
keithm
Any fume extractor worth it's salt will need to be extracted to an outside source, thats why the 'Whitfield' version was in-effective. We have some plans to look at this as a solution in the near future, the Trade will be informed when we believe we have a viable product available
TecnoBob
Fume extraction does not need to be vented to the outside. Bought one a couple of years ago from Siserve. It works very effectively. This replaced an extractor made by Whitfields and as with any charcoal filter these filters need replacing on a regular basis, just depends on how busy you are.The Whifield extractor was at least 10 years old, and was only replaced as the filters were no longer available. keithm
Charcoal filters will not remove all fumes which is why you need to vent it. Any improvement is better than nothing as fumes can be harmful. You will see a benefit, but it's not 100%, sorry.
TecnoBob
Three of the major solvents in adhesive are acetone, benzene or toluene, and carbon filters are rated as good to excellent in removing by absorbtion and helping to create a healthier environment. Ducted filters have to exhaust somewhere so all you are going to do is drop all the harmful chemicals on top of the heads of people either walking past or worst, browsing in the shop window. Clever !!

Clever !! Now that would be reckless, but I woould suggest you extract through Carbon filters into atmosphere! That is a much better solution and clever too \:D/
StevenB
Okay, so now we all agree what's the best way to do it, all we now need is some tangible details We have some plans to look at this as a solution in the near future, the Trade will be informed when we believe we have a viable product available Ready to listen when you've got something to say Keith
