Lee
We've all seen a change in the amount of reps coming into our shops over the years & internet ordering sites springing up as the next generation, but whats your prefered ordering method? slippy
Tel. I've got a fax machine and do rather well with it. Photo copy & fax service. Some insurance companies insist on faxes for proof of signature as well as driving licence & passport photo's. Helps with the phone bill. Don't knock it

slippy
The customer usually wants to write something on it. ie. Person it's going too, plus dept & ref or personal message I'm not letting a customer loose on my computer so it can be e.mailed. Sod that 10p Photo copy £1 to fax Uk £2 international Additional pages 20p Average takings on fax is £17 pm Price of a fax machine approx £60 I must admit I do recieve faxes on my computer and then print them out. A locksmith down south faxes me job sheets so I can do work for them up here.
Lee
I've been charging 15p a photo copy for the past few months, as apposed to the "traditional" 10p Haven't lost a copy yet! Lee

Lee
we've all got a newsagent round the corner charging 10p but I figured by the time i'd brought a copier, toner, paper it wasn't worth doing it for a few pence a copy. I don't let the customers lose on my copier I do them for them, with a large elderly population locally this pays dividends as they don't know how to use it anyway! when I first started at 15p I thought I'd trial it for a handful of customers to gage reaction to the 5p price increase & never looked back. Incidentally I've had a steady increase in printing documents from memory sticks, £1 for the first one then 50p an A4 after that. Lee

Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
Anyone thinking of getting a Fax machine, make sure that you can still ink cartridges for it if purchasing off ebay etc. I have one unused (xerox) although it is 6 years old. Gave it to my pal last week and you cant get print heads for the model as its discontinued.(the original ones had dried up). He had been using one that prints on Thermal paper and customers were complaining that the print faded away in the light over a couple of weeks (mainly working diagrams that could not be stored).
