D-Power
I've tested with succes the following procedure on some 2008-2009 Daihatsu models. I'm not sure that it's works also on previous models but (and I hope that I've made a good translation from Italian) : To program Daihatsu keys is necessary to have at least 1 master working key If you don't have at least 1 master working key, the ECU must be replaced. All existing working keys must be reprogrammed, the ECU accepts maximum 4 keys this is the procedure: 1.) Make a Short circuit with pin 4 and 13 of the OBD socket with a iron cord 2.) Insert the master working key and leave it in OFF position until the immobilizer light goes off 3.) Start the engine and within 3 seconds shut-it down, remove the key 4.) Wait that the imobilizer light starts to flashing 5.) Within 10 seconds insert the key to be programmed and turn ignition switch to ON (don't start the engine) 6.) Wait that the imobilizer light goes off and start the engine 7.) Within 3 seconds shut down the engine, remove the key 8.) Repeat steps 4 to 7 for every key to be programmed 9.) Remove the iron cord from the OBD socket

Mark Davis
Would it not be easier just to clone the orginal key?
firstfor
Yes, we could clone on to a battery head but I am looking if there is an alternative. Kev
D-Power
Just found out this is a model year 2000 if that will make a differance. Kev I donn't know, as said before I've tested the procedure on 2008 and 2009 models that have 4D texas crypto trasnponders. 2000 models uses 4C texas fixed transponder, so maybe the procedure is different. Mark Davis
Have a look in Autodata If it can be programmed without diagnostic equipment the proceedure will be in there. Also i wouldn't bother making any notes surely there can't be more than 1 Daihatsu in the country

lockdecoders
Daihatsu is basically a Toyota. The bridging of pins 4 and 13 tell the car to go into programming mode. This is common on later Toyota's. You can use our Key-Crypt Pro to clone this to a JMA TPX1 transponder. Pete
