Lee
I use a nice screw driver to initially lift the nail head & then use a pair of long nose pliers which I flattened then end on to grip the nail & pull! Damage, None. The is200 is perfect for the task, Tel, isn't it a pain linning the text up if the shield hasn't been put on 100% correctly in the first place? Danny King
I use a modified case knife. Blade has been ground down so it is wafer thin, Never had a problem yet
Pyrite
Depending on how it is attached, 1. If it is nailed on then I get some pliers onto the nail and just pull them out. 2. If there are no nails to worry about then I use a piece of fishing line and just slide it back and forth under the plate. Never have to worry about scratches that way... Ah.... the Aussie way! cheers
stevecoco
I am worried now. I think Hakeemz is trying to steal my clown suit. As we say up here " I bet he feels a bit of a neep"

windycity
i thought you were takingthe piss. your post really made my day best laugh for a while. but once you have the yearly shield off remeber you can always turn it around and engrave the back first if your unsure. but only really lightly, you don't want to dent or mark the other side, this way you can check if you have it right. if your buyng a is200tx with no experiance of engraving i'd try to get some cheap stock to practice on or pay someone to give you some lessons. good luck

No I'm sure It's ok planet will have told him you can phone me day or night Hakeemz if you have any problems one of my guys loves using this test tape on all customers items http://mastergrave.co.uk/catalogue/deta ... gory_ID=43 and he has never damaged one since he started with me.stick it on engrave as normal if it looks ok remove the tape and then engrave the item. craig

Graham
I find clear parcel tape works just aswell. \:D/ Yeah we use the clear packaging you often get on home products, the clear plastic boxes and just cut them up. The thought of selling a tape to do the same thing for 15 quid Great thread btw, loving it, hope you got it all sorted
kastanza
just to add my two penneth and in attempt to move up from being a paltry one star contributor.... i use a pair of small nail clippers ( ' won ' from a xmas cracker !!!!) to remove shield pins.
