x minit uk
Had a broken car key come in the other day, it was to mangled to try and cut so I phoned tel and he helped me out big time. First of all he explained how to read the cuts on a car key, then I took a pic with my phone and sent it to tel via a text. The key in question was a fixed code vauxhall astra. Tel worked his magic and the very next day the new key arrived in the post and worked first time with no issues. One very impressed cobbler and a very happy customer, THANKS TEL. Auto Key Wizard
No problem Vince, it's all in a days work. Decoding keys from images is not that difficult. For those interested the key is a HU46, this series has 10 cut positions from shoulder to tip & 4 cut depths (1234) Have a go at decoding the key below, answer with the key code or bitting (10 digits of the cut)

Lee
I can see where I went wrong, having seen the correct code, not bad for a first attempt. would have liked another attempt to get it right. Interesting though, I'll remember you next time I get a key in like this Terry. Lee

3D Group
lol. If you want to do this kind of work you need to invest in Instacode or Silca key programs. This way if you only know 7 out of the 10 cuts you can work it out.
Kris Polan
Sometimes cutting code is stamped on trunk lock... in GM vehicles. Or car pass can be useful. Have a nice day Kris
