Flash
Anyone know the significance of letter D on the disc. I.E. cutting code for discs 1DD4D1
Auto Key Wizard
This code would be from the fuel cap, the "D" stands for Dummy & a key generated to that code will not operate any of the other locks on that vehicle. You need to find the "D" values for a working key.
Flash
Would a code of 111411 operate the fuel cap?
Auto Key Wizard
Probably, But not the rest of the lockset unless that was the correct code. Exactly what are you trying to achieve?
Flash
customer lost his van keys. Had his fuel cap decoded by an engineer. I had not met the D before. Problem now sorted. Many thanks for the assistance.
Auto Key Wizard
The Safe Ventures Ford Tibbe Decoder Pick is the best tool for the job. But these locks impression pretty easy too. So how did you work out the correct bitting for this van from just the fuel cap?
Flash
I didn't. I don't offer this service. I passed the customer to a colleague who does.

Guest advanced keys
This is a cracking ford tibbe pick and i picked this one up for £38.00. I have had great results using this pick and often in less than 1 minute,
Auto Key Wizard
But it won't last as long as a Safe Venture pick

Craig Gardner
This is a cracking ford tibbe pick and i picked this one up for £38.00.I have had great results using this pick and often in less than 1 minute, i bought the same one from trade locks £24.95 and if used proparaly car opens in about 20 seconds and when held fully round in the open position decodes very easily from the height of the thumb turns once you have the 6 digit number just reverse the code as you decode from f to a and cut from a to f.i have picked aprox 40 fords with this one and decoded about 25 of them fine as they would have been all keys lost. ponsaloti
If you hold the tool on a flat surface as though its a blank, do all the levers line up straight ?

ponsaloti
I'm very, very, very suprised. I have a couple and both are twisted. Blooby quick for opening but I use SV when keys are lost. Very surprised .
Craig Gardner
I'm very, very, very suprised.I have a couple and both are twisted. Blooby quick for opening but I use SV when keys are lost. Very surprised . i would imagine they wouuld only twist if you put to much pressure on it and try to open the door before having all cuts lined up. i put it in the lock and lightly turn all the thumb turns that turn to the right the ones that dont turn are the 4 cuts and i press lightly on these and use as the tension tool then simply in turn turn the others back slowly until you feel them line up once the last one is turned back the door easily opens with hardly any pressure.i have seen guys using these and they put loads of pressure on it and wiggle the loose thumb turns till the door opens but this method only damages the pick. hibsjo(SCO)
Got both these on the van and as much as I like the SV one the other one is the first used always, 100% on it never been beaten for opening, decoding is a little bit harder on it, SV all the way for decoding. carry on! rapidlocks
The safe ventures tool is a tool for life and by far the best quality tool as is most of what they make. But i too prefer the catapillar tool pictured , a very quick opening tool , decode is spot on as long as tool is in good condition. Be carefull when opening transits as the pressure needed to unlock many of these will deform this tool. The premium tibbe in same format is a little dearer but a far stronger tool, but needs a slight adaption to use on ignitions, but is also repairable. for the price of these though , 1 or 2 jobs and the tools paid its way. at end of day its what suits the user , and the more options you have the better.
