Hey there

Can anyone help two ladies in distress!!!

We are trying to engrave a D in a round piece acrylic, but we want the D to be in 2D. so we need to be able to cut out the background.

we use the Gravograph 5 software. we have used the CAM but can only get it to cut out the middle of the D and not outside the D.

Can anyone out there help??

look forward to hearing from you.

regards

In the cam software, use the "cutting" application, within this page it gives you an option to cut externally or internally.

Edit - make sure you have turned the text into graphics first in the normal part of the software, so you are only giving a maching command to one contour.

Sorry Girls, I had to finish early today to go to the dentist! So I'm late in answering your request.

On the toolbars on the left hand side theres one that opens up lots of text effects, I think its the one next to the text box(the one with the big T on it).

You need to be looking for the box in this menu that has an "A" on it with some red dots on each cross section. This is the button which will convert text to graphics!

Hope you understand this, although i'm doing it from memory, as i'm at home now with a nice pint of tetleys, and i confused myself just typing it! (If I've got owt wrong I'm sure Planet will revell in coming on to correct me :D )

If you're still stuck in the morning give me a call on 01132467698 and I'll talk you through it!
