Silca RW4 V01.00.038 Software Update (Philips Crypto VAG)

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

There are some news about RW4:

SW update ver. 01.00.038

NEW ITEMS INTRODUCED WITH THE UPDATE

New VAG transponder identification

  • ID (4W) PHILIPS CRYPTO (VAG GROUP)

Since this software version RW4 identifies with ID (4W) the Philips Crypto transponder used on some Volkswagen group models produce between 2000 and 2006 ca. Previously such transponder were identified with ID (44)

Copy transponder

  • ID (4W) PHILIPS CRYPTO (VAG GROUP)

For some Volkswagen group models produced between 2000 and 2006 ca. (depends on the case), RW4 can be used to make an operational copy of the original key.

As is not possible to know beforehand whether the key can be copied or not, you need to use the RW4 identification function.

After key identification RW4 will visualize one of the followig messages:

a. TRANS. VAG CRYPTO CAN BE DUPLICATED (4W)

b. TRANS. VAG CRYPTO CANNOT DUPLICATE (4W)

All Philips Crypto ID (4W) Transpoder (listed below) can be copied onto the new T28 transponder. (Note: T28 transponders can be wrote and re-wrote.)

Ford

  • Galaxy 2000-2006

Seat

  • Alhambra 2000-
  • Arosa 2001-2005
  • Inca 2000-2003

Volkswagen

  • Cabrio 2000-2005
  • Golf Cabrio 2000-2004
  • Lupo 2000-2005
  • Polo 2000-2001
  • Sharan 2000-
  • Transporter 2001-2004

RW4 is able to tell also if a Id (4W) key is already used or not in a vehicle, depending on the result after identification reading we can have:

a. TRANS. VAG CRYPTO CAN BE DUPLICATED (4W) (this means that the key cab be copied)

b. TRANS. VAG CRYPTO CANNOT DUPLICATE (4W) (this means that the key cannot be copied)

c. TRANS. VAG CRYPTO (4W) (this means that the key is blank [never memorized on immobilizer])

d. TRANS. VAG CRYPTO Silca WR (4W) (this means that the key is the rewritable Silca T28 for 4W keys)

This update is free of charge, and no external modules were necessary for this function, please contact your reseller/distributor to get more information and to get the upgrade.

The upgrade is also available via the Silca Remote Service (SRS).

If you don't know what SRS is, look here: HOW TO UPDATE SILCA ELECTRONIC MACHINES

Note: The same function is availble also for the FastCopy machine

Hi,

Can anyone offer any advice, please.

When I try to download any updates to my RW4 (or even when I try to 'test connection') I get a message saying 'Major Error During Transmission (nella funzione cRw4Tx::InviaEnqiry)'

I know I am using the correct com port because I get a different message when I use any of the others.

Anyone got any ideas, please? 1898_.gif

Hi D-Power,

Thanks for posting the advice, but I have tried using different ports. I am certain this is the correct one;

I have even tried using the system to change the port that the RW4 connects through to others that I know are definitely not in use (e.g. 1, 2, 12, 15 18, etc) but I still get the same message.

Any other ideas would be appreciated! :D
