Peter / Sweden
I retreaded my stitcher again this week, and i always think of Blaze at Shoe System Plus in New York when i do it. (thank you Blaze) He learned us this trick at a seminar in LA this summer. I heard several people saying - "All these years..... and it was that easy...." Here we go.... Fast and easy without glue, (Superglue? ), knots etc, etc. This post has been promoted to an article

Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
50 years a cobbler and still learning, so simple but I've never heard of it before, thanks Peter, if only it would work on the Patching machine with a fine needle. ironplanet uk900
Good Idea Peter. But I just tie the two threads together and pull it through, never had a problem. As long as you have the machine in a position were the lock isn't on, the knot isn't a problem.

Auto Key Wizard
if only it would work on the Patching machine with a fine needle. Been pulling new cops of thread through like that for ages... Yes Hugh, on the patcher just tie new thread to the one running on the machine & pull through, you'll need to re-thread the eye in the needle though.
