This is a set of toyota instructions i have on disk if it helps

 

Instruction of programming transponder key

 

For programming master key

 

(1) Insert the original master key to start position without starting the engine.

 

(2) Press the accelerator pedal 5 times within 15 sec.

 

(3) Press the brake pedal 6 times within 15 sec.

 

(4) Take out the original key and inset new keys and turn the new key to start position without starting engine within 10 sec.

 

(5) Press the accelerator pedal 1 time.

 

(6) LED light now flashes.

 

(7) Wait for around 60 sec. till the LED light goes out. The key has been set up into the car computer.

 

(8) Insert another new key if more than one key is needed.

 

(9) Press the brake pedal to stop on board programming mode.

 

 

For programming valet key

 

(1) Insert the original master key to start position without starting the engine.

 

(2) Press the accelerator pedal 4 times within 15 sec.

 

(3) Press the brake pedal 5 times within 15 sec.

 

(4) Take out the original key and inset new keys and turn the new key to start position without starting engine within 10 sec.

 

(5) Press the accelerator pedal 1 time.

 

(6) LED light now flashes.

 

(7) Wait for around 60 sec. till the LED light goes out. The key has been set up into the car computer.

 

(8) Insert another new key if more than one key is needed.

 

(9) Press the brake pedal to stop on board programming mode.

 

 

 

Instructions of programming remote control

 

For programming remote control

 

(1) Deactivate the car security system.

 

(2) Open any one door.

 

(3) Insert key into ignition and turn 5 times (on – off position and stop on off position) within 10 seconds. LED light is on.

 

(4) Press any key on the new remote control within 16 seconds, now LED goes off. Then press the same key on the remote control. LED is on again. Now the remote control programming procedures has been completed

 

(5) For programming second remote control, repeat step 4 within 16 seconds. (You have to do the 4th step for the original remote control also because when starting learning mode all the memory of remote in the computer is deleted).

 

(6) To stop the learning mode, just close the door, turn on the ignition, or send no signal from any remote control within 16 seconds. The LED will stop flash after learning mode stops.

 

(7) The car computer can store up to 6 remote controls.

 

A Few other Methods are used on Toyota manual programming of remotes, i will type these up and post over the weekend.

this will only work if you have an original black master key .if your original is a grey head ,you cannot synch new keys in . so check your original to save wasting time . if its grey clone it , in fact if its black clone it, would be my advice unless you are suppliying with remote HTH

To follow on from Kingkey's post....

 

1) The Security light can be in 2 different shapes, small RED circle next to the word security, or a RED light in the shape of a car.

2) Make sure you are using the correct key.

3) Learned Immobiliser Keys :

Valet Key—when first inserted into the ignition lock the security light will stay on for 2 seconds and then stay off.

Master Key—when inserted into the ignition the security light will NOT light up.

4) Un-learned immobiliser Keys The security light will continue to flash with the key inserted in the ignition.

thanks to kingkey and tel200, the customers key is a black master with remote and he wants the same again.i knew this was going to be an awkward one but still jumped in anyway,hopefully it wont be too difficult now i know a little bit more.

returned to car today and programmed a new master key no problem,however the remote would not program so i phoned jamie at hickleys who read me a different procedure which worked first time , its a little bit long so i will post the info as soon as i get time thanks to everyone who helped.
