'Onest Andy
A plea for help here. A good customer has come into the shop with what I think is going to be a difficult request to fulfil. She has a Rose bowl trophy for which the mesh top has been lost and needs to be replaced. The bowl diameter measures 18cm or just a fraction over 7 inches. I have tried my suppliers but they all come back with the same answer so far. "Ahh that's bigger than anything we stock and sorry you wouldn't be able to buy the mesh part on it's own." Just wondering if by any slim chance anyone might have a damaged bowl this size they would be prepared to part with the mesh from? I know it's a slim chance but I figured the forum is just the place that chance might exist. Be grateful for any suggestions as to how I might help the lady. kobblers
you can buy various mesh styles in metal from a b and q warehouse andy, would that not do the trick for you?
'Onest Andy
Ahh good thought that, but these things are a little more elaborate. This is a solid silver item and the original mesh would have been in the form of a 18cm ring with a domed mesh infill. I'm not sure how I would achieve the domed effect from a flat piece of mesh. I guess the ring could be made from some stainless wire. Certainly food for thought.
