JesseLee
Greetings All, I am trying to track down any old treadle machines such as a McKay stitcher, pegging machine, small line finisher, chain stitcher for uppers (to take a #4 Barbours linen cord). Also looking for crimping boards and irons for making boots. I am doing this because I wish to start a working bootmaking museum of the 1860-1890's period. Hugh-Candoit (ENG)
Well I still have the enamelled badge off the tredle auto soler Peter, but welcome Jesseelee, I may be able to help you in the near future but not at present. The SHoe Museum in Northampton would be you first port of call as they have far too many applications for donations and may already have an exccess of machines. Cant help you further at the moment though. Due to the huge traffic in scamming on the Internet by individuals based in Nigeria at this present time it may be very difficult for you to obtain machinery that would be exported. It may be easier for you to go through an intermediary. good luck in your search.

busy bee
We were still using a treadle blake until about 5 years ago! It went to Standard as scrap, they gave us £1,000 discount off the new machine!!! amazing
