mirroring text in gravostyle98

Recommended Posts

How do you Mirroring text in gravostyle98? For example if you engraved on a glass plaque & wanted to read the text from the other side, effectively making your engraving a negative?

I have tried the Modify - transformation - horizontal mirror button but it didn't seam to do anything?????

Thank you!

I'm gona make me a Bäckmans leather sole stamp, using a soldering iron, and a mirror engraved piece of metal (using Relief 14 dia font).

Only problem I foresee is the iron not producing enough current to heat it.

I'll let you all know if I'm successful.

Ref the soldering iron - have you thought about one of those pyro irons they use for scribing onto wood?

ive seen artists using them to make pictures on rustic boards etc, think they get hotter than soldering irons

Andy

ps try mastergrave, they do pyrography kits Cat #: S7011

Thanks for that Andy, Just had a look. Much the same as a souldering iron, I will try an iron first as they are cheap as chips and I fancied having a play around tonight (if I leave it, Ill end up not doing trying to make one)

It shouldn't need as much heat to burn leather as to melt soulder, but the plate on it might disperse the heat to quickly, who knows!

Guest WOODY

hi lee

i have an electric branding iron to burn my brand mark into the bottom of my woodturning, it looks much like a heavy duty soldering iron but gets much hotter, it has to heat a metal plate approx 2"x2"x 1/4". is this the sort of thing you are try to make?

as for the pyrograph machine, i also have one of these which are great for burning fine detail into wood but it only heats up a thin peice of wire, although you can get heavy duty ones which will take a small cast iron brand.
