StevenB
I too have a Mastergrave Universal. Great machine, & the visualtoolbox software is so easy to learn & use . I wasn't certain about the investment, but when it paid for itself & I was in profit within the first 12 months, I could hardly believe it!! Guest Phill
I used the IS200 for a couple of years when I worked for someone, then bought a Universall when I openned my own business. Both machines had there problems to start with. The head of the IS200 was sent away and they gave me a replacement until the first one had been repaired. The universall was making a funny noise when the motor was running and they came the next day to fix it on the spot. I bought the universal mainly because the jaws open out bigger, but also you don't have to change the carrage when engraving cylinder work.Although the IS200 has an attachment that can engrave inside rings which is useful. With regards to the soft ware its like most things when you use it every day you can wiz up art work and logo's in a few moments which ever one you go for. Russell
I worked with a universal for several years and found it excellent. I found Mastergrave really helpful with help readily available over the phone. Since getting my own shop I didn't have room for a universal and had to buy a compact. Great machine but you cannot do large cups. A large tankard is about the maximum on cylindrical work. That said I would thoroughly recommend the machine if you are not really bothered on doing large cups.
Guest Iain Cheall
We use the IS200. We had several problems that we found hard to get fixed but since Mike Bell has took over the ropes it has been plain sailing with any and all probs. The software is easy to use and makes life a breeze. We bought a reconditioned machine from gravograph for £10000 has paid for itself and continues to make profit for us every day (Inc Sunday)
petercoulson
having sold and used many machines over the years i have to say i think gravograph produce better machines but back up service is suspect. try looking at their new m40g machine which has the easiest software i have seen yet
Warren
M40G is an excellent choice and you're right the software is very simple to use and the machine has some very nice features, auto z ref, laser pointer and on board lubrication. It's a great machine, desktop size with an A4 engraving area.
