can any of you supply the union 1989 copyright keys?

we get asked a lot for them but can't obtain the blanks for obvious reasons but it would be nice to be able to offer to get them cut for the customers via the post.

regards, rick.

you can get union 1989 copyright keys direct from union

they are fitted on a lot of caravans round here

get a letter of authorisation from the customer and fax that with a covering letter to them

hope this helps

you can also make them with a "Rholex" machine - it makes the blanks then u cut them, copy rights finished with any restrictions at the end of 2000 - opened doors for me

hey ray ,we use one of these ,have had the last model and , the new one,the last one lasted 1 year and 7 days, the seventh day was the day it broke, we had a huge order in for 350 keys from a customer , so the first machine took about 20 minutes approx ,to do 1 key so u can imagine the machine was running, all hours, we even took it home lol, but half way threw the order, the machine broke down, the bearings went, we contacted the company , they informed us, the warranty had run out by 7 days( GUTTED) but they sent us the new version , which cuts the keys in about 7 and a half minutes, the machine arrived in 2 days.these are a great investment, we charge, 12.50 a key.,and we would not b without this machine.

I remember that when this German machine hit the market, there was a lot of discussion, as to the cutting of copyrighted keys. How does one solve that in everyday life, when a punter just shows you a key, which you know the machine can do? The writing on the key may well read "do not duplicate", but the copyright may, or may not, long have expired.

Kind regards

Chris

i bought my "Rholex" nearly 2 years ago or so - had a couple of teathing problems - they exchanged it for an upto date machine, even better quicker - in fact it takes less than 5 mins to make a key, hibsjo is right "pateneted keys" we have to stay clear of but despite this it has added £100 a week (most weeks) to my turnover - at the start we charged £25 a key, but found we lost too many customers. now we charge £12-50 and can cut 4-5 a day, some people have 5 keys at a time.

recommend it if your a big key cutter,
