The Car Key Guy
Cut thousands of these silca UAP2's before and never had any issues until this week, had 4 back from separate customers, all cut direct from original key as well. Checked key machines and had no other keys back in last few months, so was wondering if it's a possible faulty batch of keys? Unlikely I know being silca, if not any suggestions? Thanks

grahamparker
Think it is more a manufacturing issue with UAP rather than Silca. Had one recently the customer brought the lock in, UL054 fitted smoothly but not one UAP2 would enter the plug.
The Car Key Guy
Thanks for the heads up, at least i know it ain't just me then! 1 Customer brought the barrel in and I got it to work on a Er2, random but it done the job. Anyone know who stocks the genuine blanks? Edited October 1 by The Car Key Guy
The Car Key Guy
Don't know if this is of any help but think I've sussed out the issue, it had my head battered so went round the customer house to have a look. Funnily enough the ones that didn't work the UAP barrel had a small eschetion on the front and even though the blanks all went in it was rubbing really tight on the top hence not turning. When looking at the original key closely there's a tiny little notch maybe 0.5mm deep opposite the shoulder, which just gives it enough room to not rub against the eschetion, so I literally filed a touch out of each blank on opposite to shoulder and bingo every key I'd cut even off universals all worked! Hope this helps someone out in the future
