[Master Repairers]

It is true that after the Pandemic many organisations have hit rock bottom and needed to re-invent themselves to have any relevance for the trade.

The Society of Master Shoe Repairers is no different and we are re- evaluating.

New website where members show case their work, customers can give star reviews and consumers can find a certified Master Repairer and look for their certificate on the wall.  It's not the shop that repairs its the person and we will send business direct to members, for a postal repair or face to face.  It will take a few months and we need repairers who can give a little time to help shape the organisation.

Thanks but no thanks, not for me. I can't help noticing the "we" but no names. A change of name to master repairers infers that any repairer will be eligible to join so the society will be made up of butchers and bakers and candle stick makers in future.

How long before this forum has a change of name to "Autolockieinfo"

Shoe repairs are slowly dying.

There are many excellent craftsmen still at work and earning a good living but to really make money you have to adapt and move with the times to keep ahead.

Auto locksmithing and key cutting are now a massive part of many shoe repairers businesses.
