Cutting Cheap anvil padlock keys

Recommended Posts

This is how we cut the cheap Abus/Abloy style keys for padlocks.

Using the Silca Delta with multicopy/abloy jaw.

We use the JMA 29P key blanks.

Align keys to tip and cut the first side all the way between the jawas removing all the excess material.

Once first side is cut remove the excess material all the way across the blade by filing, grinding or scouring whichever is easier.

Cut second side as normal the will be no excess to remove on this side.

That's it.

2 minute job and we charge £10.20 per key and cut hundreds every year. The  lock i used cost less than £7.00 delivered from Amazon but we still get asked to do them all the time.
