Tek Super (or any other superglue) tips and advice

Recommended Posts

Decided to give the superglue a try after years of avoiding it. I got the TEK and it seems to work well but not sure of the correct way to use it. Do i put it on both surfaces, let it go 'off' or press straight away?

Also what about doing half soles. Should i spread the glue out evenly on sole and shoe?

Any tips or advice greatly appreciated ta.

Apply one side in most instances unless the matrerial is extremely absorbent and bond straight away.

You can buy an activator to dry it faster - I get mine from Amazon, it's called Bond It Super Glue Activator.

Don't use it on soles unless you're using it as an undercoat on some of the weird new plastic/rubber soles on the shoes. You should also use the flexible super glue for this job - not the normal stuff as it will crack.

Thabnks Rick, i'm presuming the TEK i got is flexible. As for soles, apply a base layer (on the crappy materials) then use 50/50 as normal?

Yes, but I normally use Rehagol primer on top of the superglue before I apply my normal adhesive.

PC50 from T Colledge is a flexible super glue.
