Glass engraving lubricant

Recommended Posts

What do you guys use lubricate glass when engraving with a diamond?

We have always used Pledge furniture polish, which works perfectly but our local supermarket now only stocks Mr Sheen which is too runny and simply runs off the glass.

We have tried oil and WD40 but neither quite to the trick.

I see Mastergrave sell a glass oil, has anyone tried it? Or do you have a different product that does the trick?

With thanks, Paul

I did 30 glass trophies with Mr Sheen 2 weeks ago. I wiped the glass down with thinners first and it seemed to stick better, but i agree it does tend to run off and needs a top up while engraving. I wouldn't bother with white grease TBH. I have glass oil here I have never used. I'll give it a go sometime.
