Leather repairs killarney
Hi all thanks for the add, Over here in Ireland we have a very popular brand of trainers called "Asics" and so being popular they're not cheap at least€80/100 a pair, I just want to share a solution I worked out, just let me say I'm not trying to teach my grandma to suck eggs, it's mainly ladies with pedicures which end up poking a hole in the top, this takes about 10 mins to do and I now get brand new trainers from repeat customers brought to me for preventative measures, I'll add some pics to show, this one needed a little "darning" but not normally the case, as I said just wanted to share, you may have your own method but this works for me exp121260, pdr and Finistera
AndyC
If anyone gets big toe holes in trainers try Big Toe Hole Preventer patches. As the name suggests they prevent big toe holes but can also be used when the holes first appear, and they will stop the hole getting any worse. k4mrc
or look at this - new product is available to help in the fight against the common problem of big toe holes in trainers and fabric footwear. The Big Toe Hole Preventer from Trainer Armour, as the name suggests, prevents the holes that are formed in trainers due to the big toe rubbing a hole through the fabric. Podiatry professionals have confirmed it is a problem that 1 in 5 people suffer with to a greater or lesser extent. The big toe holes are caused by a condition called ‘hyperextension of the distal phalanx’. In layman’s terms, every time you take a step the big toe lifts up and rubs against the inside of the trainers causing a hole to form. The Big Toe Hole Preventer patches are supplied attached onto applicators (left foot and right foot). The applicators allow the patches to be applied in exactly the right place inside a pair of trainers without the use of liquid adhesive. The thin patches are manufactured from heavy density PU coated Nylon, a variation of which is used for hovercraft skirts. The material is very hard-wearing and is abrasion and tear resistant. Many customer reviews highlight the ease of applying the patches and that the wearer can't feel them once fitted inside their trainers. If you’d like to see how easy the product is to install in a pair of trainers, please click on the following link which will take you to a version of the user guide: https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/612633215 Our research indicates the repair options are either to stitch up a hole or apply a leather patch inside the footwear. Due to the reason for the hole appearing, stitching will only ever be a temporary fix. Feedback shows that although a leather patch will cover the hole, it is not the ideal solution inside a lightweight pair of trainers. The Big Toe Hole Preventer patches allow the shoe repairer to either sell an off-the-shelf solution or to charge a premium for the service of applying the product. The Trainer Armour Big Toe Hole Preventer patches are ideally for use in new trainers before the hole appears. However, if the hole has started to appear the patches can be used to stop the hole getting any worse. A pack of Big Toe Hole Preventer patches has a RRP of £7.50. Each pack contains a left foot applicator (with hole preventer patch attached), a right foot applicator (with hole preventer patch attached) and a set of user instructions. POS units are also available to help promote the product. If you are interested in retailing the product or would like more information, please contact us on hello@trainerarmour.com Kind regards, Andy 4 Attachments
