Paul_
If that's the case then my other two trophy suppliers (who are currently still offering one free delivery per week) will benefit!
cobblers.keys
I rang up glenway yesterday to put an order in eventually after 5 attempts being on hold then getting cut off got through to a woman that told me "that all orders need to be done online and have been done this way for a while now" (although I did a phone order last week with her) and also returned some damaged trophies that arrived the next day. She then said "that she will do the order over the phone on this occasion because she has got time". It has put me off using them in the future. The woman who I put a phone order with at trendsetting yesterday was complete opposite and couldn't help me enough. These are now obviously my first choice of suppliers Edited July 7, 2020 by cobblers.keys
windycity
It must be hard for supply business’ to keep up the same level of support to their customers at this present time. cant be easy when staff are furloughed.
Count Muppet
More reason now than ever to look after your customers and help them however they want to do business, whether over the phone or online. keithm and kobblers
Paul_
I get why they are asking for online orders, but to ask for them solely does seem quite short sighted. I've made a decision to cut right back on one of my suppliers since lock down and give more to another. Simply because of communication during all this. I haven't heard a peep from one (except from my monthly statement on April 1st) yet the other has been excellent, offering advice, posters, offers, info on opening hours/deliveries etc.

k4mrc
were all the same, to find the extra £9 on the bill without prior warning a bit of a shock but I do understand trophy distributors are still free. but depends on your location
grahamparker
Suprises me anyone is buying trophies at all after the lockdown. All sporting activities have been cancelled or postponed. I think at least one supplier maybe more will not survive. Oh and Trend have always been brilliant by the way.

Trendsetting Awards
Hello All Thank you Cobblers Keys and Graham Parker for the positive messages earlier. Very much appreciated. We did not close down and have managed to offer next day delivery throughout lockdown, initially with a team of four. We now have 14 staff back from furlough. Christine and Louise have answered phones, emails etc throughout and continue to do so. Business is improving as the weeks pass by. We hope you are all finding the same. We have a number of free carriage initiatives on offer. Please contact the office on 0191 2682000 or email sales@trend.uk.com. Please let us know if we can help best wishes Laura grahamparker and CotswoldEngraver
CotswoldEngraver
I stopped using Glenway at the beginning of lockdown for various reasons I'd rather not go in to and have just been using Trend and TD for the little we were doing. Trophies have not recovered since we reopened, we even closed our online offerings whilst our local post office closed and being refurbished for a week and not had a single sale since we reopened Amazon over a week ago. We had to diversify the business during the lockdown otherwise we would have closed and now seriously considering getting out of trophies altogether! JamesST
It's swings and roundabouts with suppliers. If you spend enough you get a better service. Have to say TD and Goodwill have been superb from day 1 and all issues addressed asap. Only downside is that i know TD have laid off staff due to the situation we are in. Some slight problems with Glenway but they are usually quite good. They are under going some big changes and one new guy has already left. Only argument would be that they don't offer the free delivery a week like the others and did away with the free van delivery. And on the flipside to others I've been forced online to keep going and have been as busy as I normally am for the last 2 months.

cobbleit
I've started using SDL, Glenway seem to have lost the plot, since Glen left. They have taken away our discount and free van delivery. If any one is interested, here is Glen's direct number at SDL 07307858918

No it never was, both Tim & Glen were the 'face' of Glenway but I think a restructure took place and they have withdrawn from a lot of activity including supporting exhibitions and the trade by being involved with Cutting Edge. Tim has retired early and Glen is now with SDL who are showing a great deal of support for our trade, taking up the space Glenway have left. Whether this means Glenway are going in a completely different direction or not I have no idea but very pleased that SDL (Glen) have already shown support for CE long may it continue. keithm and hibsjo(SCO)
