Andrew
Hi there, We Engrave a lot of wood products especially Carvings that sit onto Angled Bases/Stands. We normally Engrave a Name onto the Front of the Base using a Diamond Cutter but it is on an Angle and not easy to hold flat so the depth Engraved is not the same all over. We use a GravoGraph IS400 Volume. Does anyone have any ideas for the best way to hold an angled base so it sits flat without moving? Any help would be greatly appreciated. petercoulson
Why don't you use a cutter with the nose cone? If you put tape over the item first it shouldn't leave any drag marks
k4mrc
I have used polystyrene to clamp weird shaped items - you also have the ability with the volume to move the angle of the bed - then do what Pete says use the nose cone -should sort the problems
Count Muppet
I usually use offcuts of micro sheeting to hold anything unusual
beware
I would echo all the above. The IS400V can tilt. Clamp your piece with anything as long as it's secure. You can use a nose cone with a diamond. Maybe a feathertouch, but it will give a lighter engraving.
