Forest Cobbler
Out of interest, which would you use for engraving a nickel plated base band, a cutter or a diamond? Some of them are so hard that it's difficult to get a mark on them with a rotating diamond and I'm wondering whether a really narrow super sharp cutter is the way to go. Michael
I've started using a diamond rotated but cut the feed rate down to 0.2 or 0.3. Seems to dig a little deeper. Mick Friend, kobblers, Tricolourblade and 1 other
Forest Cobbler
Oh wow. So it does. That is going to save so much time and aggravation. Thank you Mick Friend

Even on a coated Cross pen when I didn't want to turn the motor on, just slowing the whole thing down meant that the diamond cut through much more cleanly. keithm, Mick Friend and Michael
